Checking in

Annapolis is sucking away my time. I haven't been here in...I don't remember how long. Look at the dates if you want to know.

I've begun to loathe my former posts, they look infantile.

I miss many things. The smell of gunpowder. Late nights on the streets or the computer. Nightclubs. People I knew. Trouble I could get into. Home turf.

At the same time, the probably-permanent hiatus is refreshing. A new place, with new dangers, new sights, new beauties, and even a few new friends. Even if I had to leave my guns behind (well, most of them, anyhow, but don't tell the Dean about the one under my bed. Or in the closet. Or duct-taped to the inside of the air-vent.)

I feel well and truly naked when I go to the shower down the hall and I'm not able to slip my sidearm into my bathrobe.

My internet here doesn't exist. Well and truly. The situation is scary, but it should be fixed sometime soon. The word is, in fact, the day before Valentine's. Currently. However, this gives me time for other pursuits. Reading. Philosophizing. Exploration of downtown and the campus. Lockpicking. Kata in the snow. I even have a phone which has a USB port, so you -just might- see a few low-quality pictures, if you stick around.
