The moment you've been waiting for! Actually, probably not. Just Cat doing another update. Finally.
Lots of things happened during my long absence here, much missed, I know, such as: I am no longer inhibited at all from that earlier shooting incident. 'twas a nice feeling, really 'twas, until I came down sick, then got sick again just after that cleared up...for some reaons, this summer has not been kind to my immune system. Makes me wonder why.
Most importantly, however, I was just dancing around with the Navy. (The USN; to us Americans, that's really the ONLY Navy. Can you really blame us?) They apparently want me to go into the Nuke program. I toyed with the idea of spooking or SEALS, but I'm not sure. I don't really think I'm going to go, at least not before college. Education package be damned, if you join the military to go to college, you've joined for the wrong reasons.
And yes, folks, this means I managed to feather the psych exam.
School starts back up in 3 weeks, give or take, mostly take. I've a nice year ahead, some heavy courses, AM FINALLY OUT OF GERMAN THANK THE GODS, still with everything else...
Considering building a HAM radio. Probably won't, though...ooh! Don't remember if I told you about this.
Much earlier, as in, about three months ago, I took the trigger control mechanism off of a Browning Hi-Power, which casued it to chainfire the entire magazine when the trigger was depressed once. Got myself a fifteen round magazine and stuck it in my pocket...
Have since tested it and found that it CAN fire the 30round extended, but the barrel ends up glowing white at the muzzle and about 2 centimeters inward, while the rest is a nice cherry red. Decided I wouldn't do that again; I'm too afraid of deforming the gun. (I had it on blocks with a "controlled fire" at the time, because I thought just that very thing might happen.) So, I'm back to the fifteen and the pocket.
Perhaps a month ago, I finally rigged a selector on the Browning, so I can fire both full-auto and semi. Useful for safety as well, now I can use a trigger block mechanical one. I also prototyped a design for a semi auto pistol which shoots .308 rounds, with a magazine of three. Yes, folks, that's a high-powered rifle round. Hell of a kickback; almost broke my wrist trying to fire it with a shortened barrel.
Widened my music collection considerably, methinks I've finally a stable system.
Last but most assuredly not least, I've been invited to be the Admin of an up-and-coming MUD. Still in the buidling stage, even, so I get to have fun with it...didn't know this when I joined in, but 'twill eventually be a paid position! I'm not complaining.
Until next time, probably a few months in the future, Cat is signing out. Go blow something up for me, I'll be under the radar.
