Long time Coming
Yes, it has been a while since I updated. Too bad.
They're resurfacing the streets in front of my house. I love the smell of new tarmac, and the colour, the rich black of the fresh top. Unfortunately, I dislike walking to the bustop under the "watchful" (I daresay lecherous, damn them) eyes of the construction workers. I'm paranoid, it freaks me out.
In other news, I'm nearly "recovered" from my two week absence from the hellish institution of imprisoned insanity that passes for a public school in my beautiful county. This means that I'm hopelessly behind everyone, but I know enough from my extracurricular activities and studies that I'm still the in-class guru. Go me. It also means, though, that my grades are dead. Goodbye, GPA. Don't cry for me, CalTech.
Hmm...I've recently picked up another Jerry Pournelle book (coauthored with S.M. Stirling, another stellar author) named Go Tell the Spartans. I've decided that whenever I read a Pournelle book from now on, I'll keep a list of all subjects I have near total ignorance of (or frankly, any that interest me) for later research. As a result, I currently have four articles about the Boer Wars to look over. None of which give me hardly any information. I grieve.
Other than that? Deprived of techno, roleplaying and cyberpunk fiction, Cat has turned into a violent shell of a girl who still enjoys science fiction, cleaning guns, and playing with various strange and unusual things/ideas that run the gamut from written meanderings through the mechanics of revolution to machining my very own firing mechanisms (still in the planning stage).
