Finding the Right Pumpkin Patch...

And now to try and catch up for the past few weeks...

The weekend before last we loaded up the cars, crossed the ferry and went pumpkin stalking (which are very dangerous creatures to stalk, as you can get all kinds of brambles and thorns stuck in your ankles and shoes). In all it came out well, where as I came away with several great pumpkins and pumpkin like things to carve. I do need to find one other HUGE pumpkin (yea, I know, time is running out), as I was thinking of trying a tiki headhunter, but that may have to wait till next year. However Cuthulu is going to make an appearance. I’m planning on putting up a sign or two behind him “Cuthulu for President - It Can’t be Worse than the Last Eight Years” and “Why Vote for the Lesser of Two Evils - Vote Cuthulu” I guess I will find out how much humor my fellow neighbors have. For those interested, there is a new Extreme Pumpkin book out this year and/or you can go to the website here for some ideas, if you need them. And Thanks to gwyneth1362 for this link. From looking at this person’s website, they are close to me (Centerville), as he has his address up on the webpage. He apparently puts out a BIG display for the event. And Deer calls me crazy for doing what I do…

This past weekend was a trip to Great Wolf Lodge in Williamsburg. Dancer, two of her friends, and I left early, so to give them some time at the park before things closed down on Friday. Saturday could have been great, if it wasn’t for the fact that all my stress factors hit from running at such a high level for so long, which left me, to say the least, uncomfortable. Due to this I ended up crashing early afternoon and didn’t wake up till early evening. I was able to introduce Taz to waterslides, which she thoroughly enjoyed and ended up running with the big girls for a bit. Flash was a different story, as he has no body insulation. None. Zero. Zilch. He found the warmest pools to play in and stayed there as long as he could. I tried to get him to climb through the tree house and go down those slides, but he would have nothing to do with it. After having his lips turn blue in the wave pool, I introduced him to the hot tub, from which he never wanted to leave. Of course on Sunday, when I was not there he discovered the things I tried to get him to go on and loved it.

Sunday was spent in Williamsburg at the Rockefeller Folk Art Museum for Dancer. She has had an art project that she has know about for over a month now. All she had to do was visit a museum and fill out some questions. It isn’t if there wasn’t time on Columbus Day or some Saturday or Sunday. And then there is that she tried to blame me for her not getting to a museum before the last minute. Nope, sorry, not going there. I had already asked her about the assignment several times with the “I still have time” reply. I may take next Monday or Tuesday off. All three have the day off due to the end of the semester/teacher work day and I want to take Dancer to one of the Galleries on the Mall.

Hummm…  Thinking about it, an almost four day weekend isn’t sounding bad right now, especially since my testing *should* be done…

And I'm looking forward to having most of Friday to carve pumpkins. I can't wait...

things done, life, things to do
