Like polar bears

Jan 07, 2011 12:24

We are lit by the aurora,
and as we run, our snouts are wreathed with breath.
Under the polar stars we wrestle,
borealis and starlight gleaming on our fur.
I roll you into a snowbank
and the crystals settle around us;
panting, our paws heavy against each other.
Rising again and running,
we plunge beneath the floe,
the black water holding us up,
Our fur becomes a pale aurora,
and we float in the sea, in the stars.
