Because I would probably jump off a bridge, too

2007 is a year that has steadily trended upward.

I got rid of a job that was a very bad fit for me. I moved out of my parental home and into a niceish apartment. I got a second contract doing security writing. I got an awesome freelance job that paid for Christmas. I got a third contract doing security writing, and I'm thinking seriously that specializing will save me from the dilemna of management or obsolesence. My emotional life is richer and more fantastic than ever. I have tentative hopes and plans for the coming year that make me very happy.

Baz is pre-reading. He has lost two teeth (or three, depending on how badly he whacked himself while jumping around today). He is wearing size 5/6. He can turn on the tv, switch to cable, and find the channel he wants. He can play video games with a fair degree of sophistication and first-language-ness. He can write all his capital letters clearly, and his "short name". He is starting to make more expressive drawings, and doing what sil says is representational art, instead of iconic art (I think that's what he said, anyway). He is fiercely protective of his little sister, but inclined to boss her.

Kay is mostly potty-trained now. She can identify letters. We cut her hair shorter so that it was combable. She weighs 3 pounds more than her brother, and is a couple inches shorter. She has an active imagination and spends a lot of time doing pretend-play. She has strong opinions on what she wants to wear. Oh, who am I kidding? She has strong opinions about everything.

Sil can tell you about himself. ;)

I should update this picture. It's two years old now.

milestone, kids
