I bet you didn't know I went on vacation this weekend. I did!
Friday I got home, and picked LT up and we went to dinner at Kent Crossing. And while we were waiting for a table, we wandered around. I introduced her to See's candy. Dinner was okay. Then we went to the drive-in, which is literally the next stop down the freeway from our apartment. Live Free or Die Hard was exactly what we expected, and totally entertaining and popcornariffic. Rise of the Silver Surfer SUCKED. But we watched it anyway. Nice drive-in.
Saturday, I slept in. Eventually we wandered out. We went to Wild Wheat in Kent, which was very yummy. Their swiss peasant bread was fabulous. We walked over to Rennaissance Yarns, which is a LOVELY little LYS. I am so happy to have found them. Dear sil: I did not buy any yarn. I am so good! We went to the farmer's market and got a couple heads of lettuce, and then we returned home and cleaned the office, then devolved into uselessness. Dinner was Evil Salad. That evening, we had a totally hilarious conversation about the
Maginot Line.
Sunday, I slept in again. I will sleep as long as possible in any circumstance. I made us oatmeal for brunch, and then we went out to Bellevue Square, because she needed slugs. We shopped for a bit, and she helped me decide which Skechers I want:
Bikers Aquarius. We looked at knives all over. Also, we had cupcakes at Cupcake Royale. YUM. We came home and made Welsh Rarebit. The Joy of Cooking recipe is not it. Too loose.
So see? All sorts of fun and relaxing stuff, and she got to hang out in my kitchen and talk to me the way we used to do, and that was very good. Shoes and ships and history and relationship dynamics and kitchen scales and all sorts of useful crazy things.
