From Lifehacker, a way to put the g-talk window in your sidebar, so it's always visible, even if you are looking at another tab at the time. Also, tabbed chatting!

The directions are a little succinct. Actually, that's not the problem. They tell you what to do, but not the theory thereof, so I wound up confused.
1) Go to the url they listed, which gives you just the g-chat bit. Log in if you need to.
2) Bookmark that page.
3) Open up Bookmarks -> Organize bookmarks so you can edit the bookmark you just made.
4) Right-click your new bookmark. You should see the Properties dialog.
5) If you don't see a checkbox that says Load this bookmark in the sidebar, click the drop-down arrow.
6) Check the checkbox and click OK. Now the bookmark will open in the sidebar.
7) Exit the bookmarks manager and press Ctrl+B. That will display bookmarks in the sidebar, if you don't have it set already.
8) Double-click your g-chat bookmark. Poof.

I haven't played enough to have a feel for whether the login is linked to your gmail in the same browser or not, but still, how slick is that?

In other news, my children just called me up to effuse over TMNT. I am tired of missing all the fun family events. Hopefully soon we can do this kind of thing together sometimes. At any rate, there were evidently monsters and bad guys, and the turtles went up on buildings, and the turtles didn't use guns, just their hands and their swords, and it was really cool, mommy.

aw.

baz, nifty, movies
