Jim Baen died. This makes me sad. He (and Eric Flint) bravely pioneered ways to make ebooks work, charging less for them, distributing them differently. Even now, though there are more people doing ebooks, none of them are doing them quite so boldly.
I went clothes shopping last night, because I had not brought a week's worth of clothes with me. For $20, I got a clinging knit shirt with long sleeves and an unusual cowl-esque neckline, in pale blue, and a fullish knee-length white skirt, with white embroidery detailing, and pin-tucked fabric. Way cute! I'm wearing it today and I also suspect it will be my outfit for one of the parties I'm going to this weekend. Yes, multiple parties! Woo! For another $20, I got one pair of underwear that will not show under a white skirt, and 4 pairs of totally frivolous underwear, some of them beadazzled with cocktail glasses. Really!
sil and the kids arrived safely in Minnesota and are currently at his dad's place in Cottage Grove. If you want to get together with them, you should call. His number's the same as it's always been, and I'm sure he'll want a bit of a break from all-family all-the-time.
I finished His Majesty's Dragon last night. Maybe I'll get some reading in tonight. Assuming that my week continues frustrating, I'm going home at 6:30 or so. I should get home at 9, be able to get a load of laundry or so through, put together the dry ingredients for the cakes, and even read.
Woo!
It is a great lack in my life that I only own one Moxy Fruvous song (King of Spain). Must buy more. Votes for what else I need? Keep in mind that I am deeply in love with clever lyrics. (Prince and pauper/junior and whopper) Eeee!
My back hurts. I am looking forward to lying down in my own bed, which is long enough. And flat. And devoid of dog hair. But first, three more hours of work, and a drive.
