Concerning Shinies...

Within the next few days, I shall be placing a massive order at Ye Olde Fire Mountaine. Why do I mention this here? Two reasons:

Cheap Materials For You: If you are a local fellow jewelry-maker and wish to order shinies from FMG at the 200+ discount level, let me know ASAP, and I can add your stuff to my order so you can share in the discount.

Ooh, shinies! I don't make shinies, but I like to own them. Hrmmm. I will go poke at this site and see if it makes sense to a non-maker.

okay, oof, I do not have time at work nor the brain to be able to pick things from there. But I know I'm in the market for some nice, simple, round white pearl earrings. Wanna be in charge of that for me?

I could probably arrange that. :) A few questions:
- studs or dangles?
- gold or silver?
- around what size of pearls?

Hooray!

Dangles would be prettier, but I don't want bighuge. Silver. Pearls about... 1/4in diameter? I have a very simple single-strand white pearl necklace I'd like them to go with, though I understand they're coming from different sources and thus won't be exactly the same.

I can totally do that! Should be in the 8-10 range, and probably more like 8. Mostly depends upon how long it takes me, as I've never done something exactly like this before, but I can't imagine it being too much of a PITA.

Okay!

A quick google search leads me to realizing that no one does what I think is natural for such a thing... which is a little beaded strand hanging from a earring hook, with the weight pulling the strand to a teardrop shape. Does that make sense, or should I fire up mspaint to display? :)

Ah, I think I know what sort of thing you're talking about...I did it once with tiny amber chips, but that was a gift, so I don't have photos on hand.

Are you thinking a loop of pearls, or a loop of smaller beads (seed or spacer beads of some sort) with a single pearl at the bottom of the teardrop?

Ack I missed this! Sorry. Hope it's not too late. Then again, I'm fine with either of the options you suggested. The thing I was thinking of was a loop of pearls, just because of (once again) simplicity of design and ease of matching with the necklace.

Aha! Like these without the droplet part: http://www.etsy.com/listing/33428345/pearl-drop-earrings-pearls-sterling

Aha! This is kind of late, and I'm planning on ordering v. soon, but I can certainly do that. I'm thinking that for matters of scale for the earrings, the pearls will be smaller than on the necklace. So a small loop of small pearls, to match the larger loop of the necklace. Makes sense?
