YES. *facepalm* FF XII has many flaws. But it's really had to categorize whether the way it's frakkin' Star Wars With Chocobos (except when it's not) as a good thing or a bad thing. I count it as good. :D

Hrm. FFXII definitely had the feel of Star Wars, and *some* of the characters were incredibly reminiscent of Star Wars characters, but the core plot was not really the same. I'm not saying that the plot was original, but it wasn't Star Wars's stark "if you're not white, you're black" plot of temptation and sorrow.
