i want more yami no matsuei.
watched the first episode of cowboy bebop. makes me want to wait to see the rest of it, until i can find a good copy and savor the fact that i'm watching perhaps the last of the really good anime series i may be able to watch in a while (because i'm suspecting it's on the level of eva, utena, and esca, and that's rare). although i don't know how long i'll hold out.
i watched the first four episodes of lain. will watch more when i am in the mood, for lain is a moody thing. i think it's what would happen if neil gaiman wrote a cyberpunk (except not really cyberpunk-- cyber-asocial-semi-gothic-japanese-schoolgirl, perhaps) story and it was made into an anime. makes me happy. and lucky has goodgood copies, too.

read an eva fic--"The One I Love Is...". it started out really, really good. not sure whether i liked the last couple of chapters or not, particularly his take on the events from 17th Angel forward, but they were interesting. and the first nine or ten chapters were really good. and first-person prose versions (it's written from Shinji's POV) give a new and wrenching perspective on some of the more shattering events of eva (13th and 16th Angels, for example).
and found a site with lots of incredibly good utena pics. i mean incredibly good pics. large, high-quality, and sexy. mmmm, so many hot guys. and several hot girls. or, caroline-style, Touga-Akio-Jury-Saionji-Miki-Kozue-Mikage-Anthy-Mamiya-Utena-bed!

the main character of yami no matsuei is voiced by shinichirou miki (a.k.a. allen). the violinist we meet in the second case is voiced by minami takayama (a.k.a. dilandau), as i suspected for a while, and then he started laughing maniacally and i said "hahahaha! i know that laugh!" Iason from Ai no Kusabi is voiced by the same guy who did larva from the original vampire princess miyu series (*voice-drooling*...larva from the later series was voiced by--who else?--shinichirou miki) and rosario from dragon half (*snerk*) and the original D, and his boyfriend rikki is voiced by the guy who did duo from gundam wing and legato from trigun. i want ai no kusabi too, which is annoying, seeing as it's apparently nearly impossible to find.
i go now.
