::Even if Aya hadn't been nervous about Yohji being out on recon he wouldn't be able to sleep well. Over the last few months he'd become so accustomed to having Yohji's weight and warmth and self tangled with his in bed that bed feels wrong without him. When unsettled, Aya walks. It's too cold outside and he's waiting for Yohji's return anyway so he walks through the building.::

::He... feels something that makes him check out the mission room and notices Yohji. Is he hurt, upset...? Aya walks up to the couch and waits for Yohji to acknowledge his presence.::

Yohji hears the footsteps though he doesn't look up. He's not sure if he has any particular desires to see or not see particular people, so he doesn't really want to know who's there. "I'm not injured."

Good. I'd be upset if you were injured and put off treatment. ::Yes, Aya knows that makes him a hypocrite.::

Should I leave you alone or stay? ::Although he wants to stay to help Yohji, he better than anyone understands the occasional need for space.::

"Can you stand me right now?" Yohji can smell the cigar smoke and perfume and sex clinging to his skin. He knows he needs a shower, but he feels like that would be hiding what he did from Aya.

Because I love you I can. ::Aya crouches down to be near Yohji's head. It's an unpleasant melange even without what some of the scents mean, but Aya refuses to flinch away.::

He could have. Yohji hesitates several seconds before raising his arm so that he can look at Aya. The look in his eyes is hurting and lost. "I didn't realize it would be so hard."

::Aya rests his hand on Yohji's cheek.:: Which part?

::Selfish as it might be, some parts of what Yohji had done Aya would prefer to be difficult for him to do.::

Yohji turns his head slightly to kiss Aya's palm. "All of it. Acting happy to be there. Feeling... anything for those girls besides pity. Facing the memories. The computer was in the room where we found the client's daughter."

::Aya caresses Yohji's face.:: Is it worth it?

"...Yeah." His eyes get a little more determination in them. "Yeah. Stopping them is worth almost anything."

"I don't think it would count for what it is if it was easy." Did that even make sense? It's been a really long day. Yohji sighs and sits up slowly.

As penance? ::Aya's trying.::

"...no? As something that's... It's been there for so long, you know? If it was easy, I don't think I'd feel like it was done. If it was easy, I wouldn't know why I waited so long." Yohji's tired enough to babble rather than brush it off and not say anything. It's kind of like being drunk, but without the good parts.

That gets a smile from Yohji. It's got to work its way out through the mess of emotions in his head, but it's a smile. "I should shower." There is no way in hell Yohji is getting in their bed when he stinks of someone else's perfume.
