They may still do princess plot to show perhaps how princess dance/ can organize major events compare to Gwen's ability to do so and make her feel insecure.
I hope that we'll see less of Merlin usurping Arthur's epic moments.
This probably bothers me more than anything else. The way this show presents the legend Merlin should just let Arthur die at some point, crown himself king and keep it moving. Agree pretty much with everything you've said here Mars.
I did enjoy S4 and I'm going to miss Merlin over the next 9 months.
Agree with everything you said about Arthur/Merlin. The only step they can take is Merlin becoming an adviser, and I don't see that happening. The magic reveal just doesn't matter to me. I don't care about it anymore. Sadly, I think their friendship is the part of the show I care less about now.
This is why I believe that they'll redeem Morgana. Eventually. They have to do something different with her than evil bad girl of the week. Her redemption is just more interesting then her trying and ultimately failing to take over Camelot/kill Gwen and Arthur.
i feel the same way about the friendship , they pushed merthur a lot this season and it was either repetitive or too comic/slashy " you are my only friend , friend , f r i e n d , friend " x 1000 times. OK we got it.
in my opinion , they wont redeem morgana , the prophecy says that she will die and Emrys will win , they are going to tell us how this happens and what morgana will do to get herself killed. especially since the writers already planned arthur's death , i dont see morgana being good and having picnic with gwen and merlin lol

I'm never a fan of people asking me why on anything. I generally reply with a why not because when it comes down to it it's my prerogative. That said its a bit of a defensive reaction for a television show so I'll actually list the things I liked about it.
1) Features my two favorite characters in Merlin: Guinevere and Merlin, features them working together in away they haven't since season 1
2)Also features the two strongest actors in the program, though Bradley James has stepped up his game this season
3)Features all the knights more than any other episode this season
4)no stupid Morgana plans bound for failure
5)Aggy just being evil for no real reason
6)Horror movie style plot and progression
7)Away from the castle
8)Episode has fantasy elements in a fantasy show
9)Guinevere charging Lamia and her moments just before
Does this episode have its failures? Sure. Merlin's magic not being revealed is the biggest one and there are others that I could list, but Gwen charging Lamia outweighs them all in my book.
I actually loved Princess Mithian, I felt bad for her because she came there knowing she had to find some form of liking of Arthur for marriage, and then after she discovered that she liked him he pushed her away. She was a strong female character and I hope she comes back!
