A fantastic day!
Rah! I had a fantastic day today.. Strange for a sunday, perhaps?
I don't suppose anyone wants to help round it off, and maybe head to the Alwyne for a couple of drinks, or maybe dinner around Upper Street somewhere now?
Anyway.. What I did today:
Woke up this morning - feeling fine. Looking outside, weather was completely unlike the forecast, and bright and blue and clear. I grabbed a full tank of fuel for the motorbike, and set off to get some serious countryside riding.
I headed down to Box Hill, in Surrey, which had fantastic views from the top. I used it as a base to strike out into the country lanes around there.. Lots of wooded curving lanes, forest either side, sometimes views from ridges out over the south of England.
I stopped off at Ryka's cafe for coffee, made one more run, and then struck out far to the east.. Saw loads and loads of other bikes around.. (Not just at Box Hill, but all over Kent and Surrey.)
Eventually headed back towards London from the SouthEast via the M20 and A20, including some rather naughty high speed bits.
I covered well over a hundred miles. A little tired now..
All in all, I had an excellent time.. Maybe one day I can get a few more of you out on two wheels on a fine day like today..
