Big In Japan

So I finally got around to organizing my photos from my trip to Japan last spring, during the break before the fourth term.

You can view them here:

My father was assigned to Camp Zama, near Tokyo and the family lived in Japan for over 2.5 years. In all that time this was the only visit I ever made to see them, a mere ten days. It was wonderful! I visited several historical sites, most notably the Giant Buddha in Kamakura and Mount Fuji (no photos, the weather was terrible), as well as numerous shrines, temples, castles and gardens. Outside of the historical perspective I visited the Studio Ghibli Museum, which was a must-see priority for me during the visit. I also explored the shopping districts of Machita, Sobadai-Mai, and other corners of the Tokyo Metropolitan area. I am utterly envious of Japan's commuter rail system. I also was fond of the plentiful vending machines that served hot cans of coffee. Drink up, get your fix and drop the can in a recycle bin. I am a consumer whore.
