Fito Fades Away
Today I learned the results from Fito's endoscopy: terminal lymphoma. He has had chronic diarrhea and makes quite a mess of it. As an older cat, terribly underweight from malabsorption and with chronic illnesses and special care, he was not likely to find a new home to adopt him. After he was abandoned to the clinic in May, Fito has been the defacto new clinic cat, akin to Emma. Unlike Emma and her prolonged stay of nearly two years, Fito's indefinite stay is likely to be briefer with his terminal condition. Until his quality of life deteriorates considerably further, he will remain at the hospital, a loved little friend who savors the attentions of the staff.
