I know. I LOVE LOVE LOVE When He Was Wicked. The first chapter of that book, even, is so moving, so heartbreaking--I just knew I would be in for it. It was so starkly different from the rest of the Bridgerton books--and I suppose it was because Francesca was so very different from the rest of them. That actually, I think, is one of my favorite romance novels. It is so well done, and the guilt and the angst hit all the right buttons when I am in the mood for it. On the other side, I really liked Daphne's book too, The Duke and I. She's such a relatable heroine. I just adore her. And Simon, with the stutter? I still remember that scene where he gets really angry and starts stuttering--ah, heartbreaking! But her books are so funny too, though I think To Marry a Marquis is the funniest of all of them. That book keeps me laughing out loud from start to finish.
Some her books, I barely remember--as I only read them once and when I first got into romance novels, which was like... 7 years ago? It has been a while. :) I would love to reread a few of hers...especially the one with the Bridgerton girl writing letters to that guy who turns out to have two hellion children scampering around. Can't remember much else, except that it seems to be most people's favorite of that series.
