Groupon Tuesday

Last night, I met up with conspiratrix and jameyhasnolj for the Providence ghost tour. I had gotten discounted tickets through Groupon which just shows how Groupon not only gives great discounts, but also can introduce you to thinks of which you'd be unaware. And, seriously, this was a fantastic tour. We walked around a shower dampened Providence for almost two hours listening to our guide tell us stories of the recorded paranormal activities in the portion of Providence near Brown as well as some good city history. We had about 12 people on our tour, so it was a good size and our guide was a really good storyteller, even incorporating a couple poems by Poe. I would totally do this tour again, as well as recommend it to anyone. It is about 2 miles of walking, so bring the walking shoes, but the pace is very low key. The company also seems to be run by some entrepreneurial 20-somethings, so that is a great thing to support as well.

After our spooky tromp, I grabbed my groupon for cupcakes at Duck & Bunny on Wickenden Street and we headed for a comforting dessert. I must admit that I might have been slightly misguided by this place. While the service was still somewhat slower than I could have wished, like last time, their cupcakes were OUT OF THIS WORLD. I had a banana cupcake with nutella filling and it tasted just like banana bread. So, this tells me that they use fresh ingredients and it shows. jameyhasnolj 's pumpkin cupcake was also awesome. conspiratrix got a smore cupcake and vayrocklord got peanutbutter which were both excellent, but I definitely had leanings towards the fruit/vegetable ones. They might be a bit pricey if one does not have a groupon, but that might still be feasibly on occasion. And it was a great ending to the evening!
