By Friday, my cold had held on for a week and I'd begun having trouble hearing out of my right ear, so I decided that there is probably a reason that I have health insurance. A short time later, I was diagnosed with bronchitis that was well on its way to becoming pneumonia and a double ear infection. Right then. I was immediately put on a large number of drugs to swiftly destroy everything in my body. But, this being me, there was no way that I would let such a thing slow me down. I took my sister to Lilith Fair for an early birthday celebration Friday evening. Despite not knowing many of the artists, we had a great time. We even met up with
celesteahora ,
conspiratrix ,
jameyhasnolj , and
minervaish between acts. Of course, the highlight of the evening was Sarah McLachlan. Her voice is consistently amazing and she sang just about every one of my favorite songs. I was not as impressed by her new music which does not appear to focus on her voice, but rather goes in a more poppy direction, but as long as she continues to sing some of the old stuff, I'm okay with it. I got home a bit before midnight, pretty much worn out. Saturday morning, I got to enjoy my local farmer's market before taking a mid-morning nap. We woke up just before we'd planned to head out to
hilariarex and
darkwhimsy 's birthday bbq, so we quickly picked up
egowumpus and got on the road. We had a great time hanging out and chatting with folks, but it seemed like it was too soon that we had to head home to walk the great furry beast. Of course, it is probably for the best that we left at that time, because I was wiped out as soon as we got home and went right to bed after taking care of Her Fluffiness. I guess I really am sick! On Sunday, we met up with
tressum and
jackshale for some yummy chinese food and lots of larp talk. It was great to see them, but my energy was definitely flagging by the time they left. I managed to cook dinner and then was done for the day. I suppose I really should be taking it a lot easier, but there's simply too much to do!
vayrocklord has told me that I am not to exercise this week given some of the possible side effects of the various medications and I'm just as happy to do very little for a while. I pretty much just feel worn out, but the good news is that I can hear well again! Yay! Unfortunately, one of the antibiotics says I should avoid direct sunlight which may be problematic next weekend, but I'll do what I can. I can't believe it's August!
