My friend, Kristen, was complaining to me how she was never going to get married to her fiance, Bryan. She gave me all the reasons why it wasn't ever going to happen. Bryan wants to have all the money before setting a date. And neither of their parents seem willing to help pay for the wedding. And how much this and that costs. Mostly she had convinced herself it was never going to happen.
I felt sad for her. So I made a few phone calls on her behalf. It turns out the things they really want aren't as expensive as they thought. And now - those two will be setting a date after Kristen talks to her father when he comes to town in a few weeks.
Kristen is so happy now. She had lost touch of her dreams. And I reigned them in and gave them back to her.
It reminds the not to lose faith in the things that really matter to you. Even though Kristen and Bryan won't be able to afford to get married until 2006, they will soon have everything set in motion. It will happen.
