Reading Journal Entry #19
Next up is "Letter to Pedro, U.S. Citizen, also called Pete" by Rene Estella Amper. I actually found this poem sad, yet sort of funny. Why funny? Because in the first part the persona said that "there isn't really much change" since Pete left, but as the poem progresses, the persona enumerates a lot of changes in their hometown! This poem is really an eye-opener on how the society is today. Every time we want change and improvement to happen, we are unaware of the negative things that are happening to other people.
