oo1. Proposal Daisakusen SP - I liked it! It made me smile and laugh and even though there's no way that it could erase the bad taste that the drama left in my mouth, it was the ending we should have gotten in the drama. I particularly liked how the SP dealt with the fallout from the drama's end -
that both Ken and Rei were reticent about discussing marriage, and that Ken was afraid to see her parents because of what they had both done on her wedding day.
Ken seemed very changed to me - more idolish and less dorky Ken from the drama. ;) The way he held himself and overall how he behaved was so much more mature. Obviously, he learned a few important things from his experiences. Finally.
Decent end to a highly imperfect drama.
oo2. Around 40 episode 1 - I really, really like the lead actress, Amami Yuki, who portrays psychiatrist Ogata Satoko, a 39 year-old unmarried woman. While the first episode piled on the age discussion quite heavily (which makes sense when the drama is about a group of women about to turn 40 and all the concerns that come with that), I still enjoyed it, largely due to Amami's charisma. Although I picked up the drama because of Fujiki Naohito, I'm really glad that because of him, I've discovered another actress who I think I will enjoy quite a bit. As for the drama? Well, we will see.
oo3. Last Friends episode 1 - Early in the drama I thought, "aha, this is
Fried Green Tomatoes!" With obvious differences, but still. I'm very interested in how the drama explores
the issues of sexual identity; this will be first time I've seen homosexuality addressed head-on. But, ack, why...why does poor Ruka get the discordant music of doom, though?! ;___;
