*DRAWS HEARTS ALL OVER THIS POST*

Crossing my fingers for Torchwood replacements in Martha and James Marsters. Are you in the fandom at all? sam_storyteller's Nicholas fic is exactly what I want to happen in canon. *__*

I did want to smack Donna, however, for not understanding the importance of not changing history.

This isn't the first time I've seen that opinion, but I walked away with a different impression. I understood how much it hurt the Doctor -- especially when he realized he had to directly cause this tragedy, oh my god -- but I thought he got way too caught up in the tragically responsible Time Lord thing, and Donna was right to kick him in the ass and remind him, hey, there's a family right here you can save, hop to it. (And oh, how much did it break my heart that 'til the last Donna was trying so hard to save one life, any life. Reaching for the little boy? Frantically telling everyone to go for the beach, not the mountains? I love her ( ... )

*happy* I'm so glad you like the post, Wolfie! :)

Crossing my fingers for Torchwood replacements in Martha and James Marsters.

ME, TOO. OMG, I neglected to say how much I absolutely ADORED James Marsters in "Exit Wounds." He starts off so villainously that I was sitting there, staring at the screen and thinking, "but why? There needs to be SOME kind of gun on the wall to lead up to this sort of over-the-top villainy"...and then he revealed the truth, and I just melted. He played the angst just as beautifully as he always does, and his regret and tenderness toward Jack were perfect.

Martha and John would be perfect additions to the TW crew - John would come on to everyone, all the delicious angst, and we'd get brilliant Martha's competence. But OH, I hate the we lost Toshiko, too. *still sad*

Tosh. ): And Owen! They really didn't think that one through, did they? Three eps about Owen's fake death and they off him half a season later. I hope he and Sirius Black are relaxing in limbo somewhere, talkin' chicks and waiting for their teams to realize there were no bodies.

Here is the Nicholas fic. It starts as a "behind the scenes" thing (Nicholas is the new tea boy when Jack leaves with the Doctor, and we see Torchwood through his eyes) but the last chapter is post-finale AU. Hart is such a fantastic character, omg. Anyone who ties up Jack in canon has my thorough approval. "Since when do you have a problem with bondage?" And poodles!

I still think it's troubling how she doesn't yet comprehend the dangers of changing history for the worse (I think I'm jaded by too many years as a DW fan) - I imagine that the issue will likely come up at some point for her so she can see what he's afraid of.*crosses fingers* I hope it's written as nicely as the Pompeii scene, when Donna puts her hands over the Doctor's so he doesn't have to ( ... )

The more I think about it, the less I like how Owen died. I mean, I figured he would have to die at some point, but it's a bit disappointing that he went like that, and also, if Tosh could control things as much as she did, why did he have to be there at all? (maybe I missed something)Ah, well. Bye, bye Burn Gorman! You made me forget all about Mr. Guppy, which is quite a feat.

TREAT DONNA RIGHT, RTD. Don't, oh I dunno, trap her in a parallel universe.

No kidding.

THEY ARE SPARTACUS.

HEE. The one-liners were fab! Give me snappy dialogue, good laughs, and plenty of angst...and I'm quite satisfied. :)
