- My mind is boggled by the fact that Kousaku has to lose 11 kg in 2 weeks! Isn't that really dangerous to try to lose so much so fast?
- The Charity Bazaar scene, Point 1: I know that it's ridiculous, but I giggled at Kousaku shimmying up to the gate. SO CUTE, and Point 2: watching Ishizaka and Kousaku destroy the bazaar over Sister Angela's handknit muffler was stupid. Stupid, but HILARIOUS. I LOLed and LOLed. Especially when Ishizaka pushed that pink bunny head on Kousaku! I rewound that bit probably three times. Normally stupid doesn't do it for me, so go figure.
- Chinen's slow-mo entrance was so dumb. But hurray for Katsumi fingering Kousaku as the strongest guy at the gym - he may be a critical little snot, but at least on this point, he manages a scrap of honesty.
- I wonder how many times Chinen hit Kame in the face.
- Ok, so let me get this straight. Yoshihiko likes to brawl. Yoshihiko thinks that brawling=boxing. His parents won't let him take up boxing, so he bargains with them that if he can land a punch on the strongest boxer in the gym, he gets to take up boxing. EXCEPT Yoshihiko has no stamina and isn't even remotely able to keep up with the other athletes (because they're ATHLETES, duh, and he's just some rich, incredibly spoiled dumb teenager who thinks that what he wants should just fall in his lap. Um, no.).
- I really, really hate that Kousaku decides to make Yoshihiko his new best friend so that Yoshihiko will treat him to caloric meals. Especially when he's preparing for a match and needs to lose that ludicrous 11 kg. I appreciate that he wants to drown his sorrows, but it's not like he's been abstinent up until this point, so I have little sympathy for his love-sick drama-queening. The nuns are right about Kousaku - he's very selfish.
- Katsumi gets an arc! He IS jealous of the attention his mother lavishes on the boxers, and meanwhile gets kicked around at school. I do have a teensy bit of understanding for why he's always making cutting remarks to Kousaku now - I think he's jealous of Kousaku's confidence, as well as his mother's attention. I like how being around Yoshihiko is maybe helping him to gain some confidence to face up to bullies.
- Why is Yoshihiko still trying to land a punch on Kousaku? Brat. I didn't understand why he wanted to keep Kousaku eating, but I guess it's just because he thinks that food distracts Kousaku and if he's distracted, he'll make an easier target?
- I LOVE Kame enthusiastically counting in English! Heee! Too cute. :) Too bad he can't seem to count properly - 24 is not followed by 30!
- My favorite moment in the whole episode is when Kousaku advances on Yoshihiko with his "ferocious" face on.
- Starving Kousaku opening and closing his mouth like a fish is adorable. :)
- I realized, particularly when Sister Angela gives Kousaku the necklace, that this is the first episode where I've finally seen something warm in Meisa's face! Maybe this means that she's growing on me? Or maybe it means that Meisa is settling into the role?
- Second favorite scene of the episode: Kousaku takes responsibility for eating, even though Yoshihiko trapped him in his room with a boatload of food, and Ueda's speech to Yoshihiko is fab: "You may not understand, but we put our lives on the line. If we can't stand in the ring, there's no point in living. Just because of one meal, we won't get in the ring."
- KAME DOING PULL UPS! WHAT. I NEVER SAID I WASN'T SHALLOW. I'm seriously impressed with his athleticism.
- Katsumi! I don't believe it! You did something so sweet, to try to convince Sister Angela to see Kousaku's match!
- The scene with the thugs is ridiculous, but also cute. For one, I love how Katsumi immediately goes to check on the downed Yoshihiko (aww!) which is nice considering how rude Yoshihiko was to Katsumi ealier. And then I loved how Kousaku thinks it's more important to apologize to Sister Angela and sort of gently moves the thugs out of the way so he can make his speech.
- Again, I wonder how many times Kame has gotten hit in the head filming this episode alone.
- Sister Angela is an idiot for asking Kousaku not to hit the thugs. But Kousaku being all heroic and placing himself in front of Sister Angela, Katsumi and Yoshihiko is LOVELY. And I love how he doesn't give up, even when he's on the ground - he just grabs their legs as best he can with all of his limbs and doesn't let go. *beams*
- Could it be...is Sister Angela beginning to fall for Kousaku?
It was a fun episode, despite smack-worthy Chinen. :D
