What to do when you've made too much tzatziki? (I accidentally made a giant amount the other night) I made pita wraps with thin slices of rosy-centered steak, fresh herbs & mixed salad greens, and grape tomatoes marinated in olive oil, balsamic vinegar, herbs, coarse salt and freshly-ground black pepper. Topped it with big scoops of tzatziki, and YUM! A bit messy, but who cares, right?

Speaking of food, I can't believe that I forgot to mention that I went to Matchbox last weekend for dinner; I'm thrilled to report that they've expanded from their former narrow space, and it looks gorgeous. I love the jogging steps that link the expansion to the original space and the glass-roofed dining area plus their modern and yet warm and inviting decor provides a very pleasant environment for their always-delicious food.

Some interesting things:

1. Wired.com's Harry Potter Spells: The Best and Worst in Hexes and Curses. Oh, it's snarky. There are also no spoilers.

2. Check out this cool optical illusion!

3. I thought this was rather inspirational: Cambodia: The Silk Grandmothers, Emily Taguchi's short film about a Japanese craftsman who went to Cambodia to try to revive the region's silk-making tradition.

When I went to the movies recently, I was horrified to discover that it looks like a Hollywood remake (No Reservations w/C. Zeta-Jones) has been made of a film I adore, Bella Martha (US Title: Mostly Martha). Needless to say, I will be posting a picspam of the original film which starred Martina Gedeck (The Lives of Others) as an uptight German chef whose colorless life is transformed by her niece and an unconventional Italian chef who comes to work in her kitchen. Of course hearing Paolo Conte's "Via Con Me" in the soundtrack didn't hurt at all, either. :)
