'Casino Royale' - I LOVE IT

Nov 19, 2006 20:59

I went to see Casino Royale this afternoon, and it's absolutely as good as everyone has been raving. Daniel Craig, who I've followed for years is wonderful as the new James Bond, and if I had to sum up his interpretation of the role and the role as it was written: this was a very human Bond - not just a smooth-talking, witty charmer. I had heard that was a good movie...but, somehow, it doesn't strike my interest. I guess I'm more an animated/comedy movie nut than anything else.
(saw Happy Feet today and I loved it :D I'd watch it again if I could. I felt like tap dancing when I came out of the theatre)

Though, for a name called "Happy Feet" for a movie, there was a lot of singing in it O-O

I went to see Casino Royale yesterday and am currently writing up a few things about it but nothing in depth. Just to say, however, that I actually thought the opening credit sequence was rather cool! I know it seemed as though it was just live action footage thinly cloaked in some average CGI, but I think it was mainly the colouring and all the images related to cards which I liked about it.

I liked the imagery quite a lot, but what I didn't like was how flat it looked to me - other Bond title sequences have had a much more dynamic three dimensional look to them. So maybe we agree?

Yah Casino Royale was so good...I've always thought James Bond is this superhuman with all kinds of impossible gadgets and I think Daniel Craig makes him so much more believeable and easier to relate to....I must say the first 10 mins was exciting...The villain was jumping from one crane to another and I was thinking he must be a monkey or something...

The chemistry betw Eva Green & Daniel Craig was so good...A pity that it had to end the way it did and now I suppose I know why Bond love em and leave em...it's definitely a great show...

I agree with everything you said about CR - they really revamped it in the best possible way, and I'm glad that it is grittier now instead of slick and playful. This Bond is sooo down to earth, and real, and human. It's awesome!

And word also on your comment about the chemistry between Eva Green & Daniel Craig. They were amazing together.
