kame_share has it all today: Gorgeous new Christmasy scans of Kamenashi and Ayase are here. Also, the cutest clip of Kamenashi in reading glasses (and using a magnifying glass to read charts of some kind) is here, and finally fab Josei Seven KAT-TUN scans are here. Niiiice!

I started watching Takizawa Hideaki in jdorama Taiyou no Kisetsu.

Just based on the first episode, this is a dorama designed to showcase Takki's beauty in every angle known to man. He broods, he gets wet, he sweats, he broods, he smiles hesitantly, he gets angry, he broods...did I mention he broods? ;) And he looks excessively hot while doing all of the above.

The Premise: Takki plays Tsugawa Tatsuya, a poor boy masquerading as a rich college kid who has befriended Shinji, the wealthy heir to a prestigious bank. Shinji is good-natured and seems like a really good guy, although his friends are not quite as benevolent and nice as he is. When we first meet Tatsuya, he is keying his friend's classic convertible, so clearly there are some major resentment issues going on here.

What we learn: Tatsuya has some kind of hidden agenda to destroy his rich friend and sets his sights on stealing Shinji's newly-announced fiancee, Yuki, who seems intrigued by Tatsuya. Shinji's friends think of Tatsuya as mysterious and secretive while Shinji thinks of him as a really good guy and someone that he can depend on. Tatsuya works as a nighttime construction worker to pay the bills, and he is applying for a difficult scholarship to stay in university. He's an ace at his studies, and plays a mean game of pool. We also learn that something happened to his father during his youth (which makes me think that Shinji's father's bank had something to do with Tatsuya's father's demise, which is why he has targetted Shinji). Furthermore, an old high school classmate has recognized and found Shinji at his university, and they are both members of the same uni track club, a club which Tatsuya never participates in, although it seems he does run regularly. We learn from Kouhei that Tatsuya was a really good guy in high school - that he was always the guy who helped others out, which seems very different from his current personality. Tatsuya tells the old classmate to stay away from him, because he doesn't want his lies to be exposed to the crowd he hangs out with now. From a phone call from his mother, we also learn that Tatsuya has been sending money to his mother every month to help her out.

In the first episode, Tatsuya engineers an incident in which he rescues Yuki's missing earring from a swimming pool (wet Takki is even hotter, if that is possible), which earns him both Shinji and Yuki's gratitude, and Tatsuya later kisses Yuki (naughty boy!). Yuki doesn't tell her fiance about the encounter, and the two exchange significant glances throughout the rest of the episode.

A chance encounter leads Tatsuya to meet Eiko. Eiko is a young woman who walks with a limp who goes to regular physical therapy appointments at the nearby hospital. We learn that Eiko plays the piano, writes her own music, and has a largely absent, controlling mother who is some kind of famous pianist (who is seemingly in decline). Eiko's life is ruled by Tamiyo, who seems to be some kind of governess/housekeeper who keeps, at her employer's request, detailed records of Eiko's daily activities. Based on this, we know that Eiko's entire life consists of practicing the piano, going to her physical therapy (for a childhood injury cased by a traffic accident which will never heal), and teaching her student. Her mother seems like one of those incredibly spoiled yet incredibly demanding, controlling and unforgiving people even whilst she gives off an aura of dreamy kindliness. When Tatsuya and Eiko meet, their papers get mixed up and he ends up with her sheet music while she ends up with his scholarship application.

At the end, after pretending not to know her when with Shinji and his friends (Eiko had looked for him to return his papers), Tatsuya goes back to find Eiko and give her sheet music back - and through his voiceover, we hear that he will fall in love with her, and of course this is spoken with the voice of Doom.

There is a mystery man: Orihara Kaname, a senior executive with the company of Yuki's father who seems a bit grim and attracts Tatsuya's attention.

Tatsuya seems like a really damaged young man who has significant reasons to embark on this mission to destroy Shinji's life - I'm quite intrigued to see how this all turns out. Will the relationship with the innocent, pure Eiko reform him and turn him from his dark path? What happened to Tatsuya's father? What's up with Orihara-san? Is Shinji really too good to be true? Will Tatsuya be able to seduce Yuki away from Shinji? :)

Well, whatever the answers to all of those questions, Takki is so pretty in this dorama! I could have easily made about 1000 caps, no joke because every single frame of him was gorgeous. I restrained myself mightily.

Loreena McKennitt's new album is stunning. (I was naughty and didn't wait for my CD to arrive) Just wait until you hear "Caravanserai" and my favorite, "Beneath a Phrygian Sky" which reminds me (in a good way) of my all-time fave LM song, "The Bonny Swans" - there is a guitar bit in "Under the Phrygian Sky" which has a hint of the guitar from TBS. The whole thing is entirely swoon-worthy, though, and will not disappoint.
