Spammish odds and ends
Work is slamming me today, so this will be brief.

- This may be old news, but I absolutely loved this collection of Jin quotes that riccichan posted recently here at Hadaka no Johnny's. They are hilarious!
- I pre-ordered two versions of the new KAT-TUN single, and they are exactly the ones I wanted. :)
- I finished reading Australian writer Peter Carey's Wrong About Japan this morning on the train, and it was fabulous! I loved the entire discussion of Miyazaki's My Neighbor Totoro which is a film I have yet to see, and it has now shot to the top of my list of Miyazaki films to catch up on. I also loved how Carey intellectualized so many things in manga and anime about Japanese culture, only to discover that instead of deep philosophical cultural answers...sometimes things were done simply to sell more toys. How disappointing that must have been! I also loved Carey's question to Yuka Minakawa, "what it meant to be not a transsexual but a visualist" (p.113). There were so many gems of culture and misunderstanding in this fast and easy read of a book: highly recommended!
