Nobuta wo Produce Episode One overview & picspam

I made a silly promise to myself that I wouldn't start a new dorama until I'd properly reviewed Nobuta wo Produce, because I fell in love with it so hard. Needless to say, once Sapuri came along, obviously that promise flew out the window, but it's not the same as me bingeing on the completed doramas in my queue like 1 Litre of Tears and Orange ( Read more... )

Nobuta wo Produce was my first j-dorama. I probably wouldn't have known about it if it wasn't for my friend getting "Seishun Amigo" stuck in my head for weeks. I was really surprised of how good this was. It was a little scary seeing how Shuji reminded me of myself before I entered college. I guess being able to relate to a character made the drama even better for me? (if that makes any sense at this hour, I probably need sleep soon) Despite that, I think Yamapi's Akira outshined Kame's Shuji in this drama. I loved Akira in this drama.

Your review of the first episode was really good. I'm tempted to go watch it again, haven't seen it in a while. Also, thank you so much for sharing the other SIGNAL ipod ready files. I still have to grab them. =P

I was surprised at how good Nobuta wo Produce was, too. It was not just about an Ugly Duckling transformation nor was it a love story - and really, although it's named after Nobuta, it both begins and ends with Shuji - it is about his journey of growth as much if not more than Nobuta's. Of the three, Akira is the wisest and most well-adjusted, that's for sure.

Thanks for your kind comment on the review, and also I'm really glad that you and others are finding the iPod files useful. :)

Now, hopefully I can finish up my Nobuta wo Produce review so that I can start on a new dorama - my summer is slowly disappearing, and I have a lot I want to get through! :D

Excuse me for ranting.

Like I told emeree, I really need to make my welcome post required reading! No apologies or excuses are necessary for the wonderful, thoughtful comment that you left above.

And I need to thank you, btw, for pimping these NwP posts! I was wondering why, out of the blue, I was getting hits and comments on stuff I'd written a while ago - and when I saw this comment from you, I went back to your LJ. You are really too, too kind.

Eventually I'd like to finish my write-up of the dorama, although I won't go into this much detail for each subsequent episode. It's just that once I got started with this one, I realized how much depth I needed to explain in order for the rest of the dorama to make sense from a written perspective. I couldn't talk about the supernatural in episode 3 without mentioning here that the supernatural is a recurring theme that kicks off in the first episodeI agree with you in virtually everything that you wrote. I am really enjoying Kame's current role in Sapuri - it demonstrates his ability to ( ... )

this is the best and complete nwp review I have ever read! IT'S THOROUGH AND PERSPECTIVE and not so fangirly towards Akira and how cute he is or how cool Shuji is. YO YOU SHOULD TOTALLY PUT THIS ON WIKI :D LOl!

i adore how you can interpret it so well. i'm so serious about this.. i only partially UNDERSTOOD the story in this drama. for example, i didn't really know what the willow tree finding a new home had to do with them. BUT BECAUSE OF YOU, I UNDERSTAND NOW<3 this is going to my memories :) worth me reading again later on.

OMG AND SCREENCAPS! ever since i lost my old computer, i wasnt able to get back the caps (hah cus i was lazy to look for them in the forums =x)
