Why do I wake up before six a.m. on a Saturday morning?? *cries*
1. So I posted a batch of
stock icons yesterday and several people seem to like the bunny in the cup, so behind the cut is the original, even cuter image from
Cuteoverload.com, just in case anyone wants to make their own icon.
2. I went to see An Inconvenient Truth last night with a group of friends.
It started out as just me and Ness, but then somehow, there were eight of us altogether! I LOVE THIS FILM. It terrified me (if what they predict is true)and I literally cried in horror. I had chills and my hair stood on end when I saw the projections of ocean levels for major parts of China, India and Bangladesh. I am not exaggerating my reaction in the slightest. The film makes excellent points for those who don't know the details or the extent to which global warming will effect every single person in the world. It also made me laugh and was a very interesting portrait of Al Gore as the environmental crusader who seems lit by a genuine passion that has informed his entire adult life. If you have a brain, Go See This Film! Decide for yourself and educate yourself from independent sources. Don't imagine that this problem will magically resolve itself.
I went to see this with a bunch of NIH scientists and everyone was pleased - most of them come from countries that support the
Kyoto Protocol, all except we Americans and Ness, an Aussie. Everyone knows about the U.S., the hold-out losers in the fight for our planet's future, but not as many know that Australia has joined the U.S. in the ranks of the only two developed nations to NOT participate in the Kyoto Protocol. Ness and I have talked about it in the past, and it's something that embarasses her to no end. :(

United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change website And now for something completely different. I've been watching the Johnny's Entertainment musical Dream Boys (2006) that stars Kame of KAT-TUN as well as the rest of KAT-TUN and Kanjani 8. At

this query as to just What in the Heck is Going ON? I have been "WTF?"ing virtually non-stop and asking myself in what universe a production like this EVER got made? (A: a universe in which Johnny's Jimusho exercises obscene amounts of power in the entertainment world and Johnny Kitagawa knows that he has a guaranteed audience for any excuse to showcase the boys of JE)
Disc One
When I saw Jin come flying out wearing some kind of metallic toga thing, that was the first of many "WTF?" moments. Are he and the other guys meant to be celestial beings of some kind?
So I guess only in JE would they consider a musical that involves boxing and cast a bunch of skinny young guys to parade around bare-chested in boxing shorts...
Kame is way too pretty in these...
Kame runs away to the circus!
Somehow the knife ends up in Yuuto's hand and Jin accidentally gets stabbed, Kame takes the knife from Yutto and everyone thinks he did it. The End. Of Disc One, anyway.
Disc Two, Part 1 is
here. Because I'm completely insane that way...
