The weather for the last few days has been filthy and rather appalling. You can't walk for ten minutes, it seems, without a torrential downpour developing which then dissipates as soon as you decide to go inside. Last night's rain was thunderous.
I know I asked yesterday, but I'm forced to repeat myself because Someone isn't Listening.
ENOUGH WITH THE RAIN ALREADY.
Rain is fine. Persistent torrential downpours=flooding and there are a lot of people pumping out their basements and also metro tunnels yesterday on the Orange Line (fortunately not my line). I'm lucky that I have no flooding issues where I live but I know several people who do. (sorry for the weather rant)
I've been racing through Checkmate, the sixth and final book in Dorothy Dunnett's Lymond Chronicles and oh, my heart. I am in so much pain for Lymond and Philippa. I was crying on the train this morning while I was reading one section, and I felt like my heart would break at the palpable tension and anguish. I hope to share thoughts on the last three books as soon as I finish this one. Love does not begin to describe what I feel for Lymond (or Philippa). What exquisite fictional creations!
