It has been about a month since I first watched Japanese drama Nobuta wo Produce, but I've been rewatching it in snippets during the intervening time because I loved it so much. It follows three high school students who secretly unite in common cause and discover the power of friendship

I also love the character development in this dorama, especially for Shuji. I plan to do a write-up on NwP and that is probably the thing that stood out the most for me - in the beginning you think it's about making Nobuta over and transforming her - very cliche, no?, but the reality is that it's Shuji whose transformation is most dramatic and is really the emotional center of the drama.
I know I shouldn't compare them, but I can't help myself....I loved Anego, warts and all. But Nobuta wo Produce has a classic feel to it, and partly I feel that it is because Kame proved himself as an actor - he's really, really good! As compared to Jin who isn't bad at all, and has some terrific moments in Anego, but overall there's a maturity and a depth in Kame's acting that I don't see in Jin's acting (yet). I hope that I do not offend by saying so, because I don't know where you fall on any of these guys, but I don't have favorites between these two at least - they both have their strengths and weaknesses and are wonderful performers. I'm only trying to be quite objective...
Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts! :)
"bye bye"

I'm really looking forward to Kame's new drama. Hopefully he will be able to prove his acting abilities and follow the footsteps of Kimura? I know no one will ever compare, but it's a nice thought ^^
