Superquick update
Let's see how fast I can write this since I need to rush out of here...
1) I just finished Doctor Who 2x06 "The Age of Steel" and all I can say is that the end left me in tears. I like this episode better than "Rise of the Cybermen" but one thing that really jumped out at me is that the supporting characters were all fairly charismatic and I really liked and cared about their fates.
2) Don't ask me how I did it, but I actually finished all ten episodes of jdorama Anego by staying up ridiculously late Friday night. I loved it! Flaws, cheesiness, and all, I absolutely loved it! I loved Naoko, I thought Kurosawa was just an adorable puppy and despite ocassional eye-rolls, overall I thought it was very sweet, touching, and heartwarming. Plus, I actually really liked the younger man/older woman love story, and Naoko played by Shinohara Ryoko was very charismatic and plucky through all of the mishaps that assail her during the course of the story. Yes, I know that Akanishi Jin is too pretty (and he looks younger than he is), but he was very sweet in this dorama, and Shinohara Ryoko has the most gorgeous generous smile. They both really won me over.
3) N and I watched 10 Things I Hate About You last night with Heath Ledger & Julia Stiles, and also, I loved it. A terrific adaptation of Shakespeare and the soundtrack was to die for. I need to find this soundtrack now because I couldn't stop drooling over the music they used throughout the film.
4) N is a terrific cook! We had an impromptu dnner Friday night with icajoleu and skippyness, and N made a delicious Northern Italian risotto with pork, rosemary & thyme and it was one of the most delicious risottos I've ever had! I made an antipasto with artichokes, roasted red peppers and sardines, and we had fresh strawberries for dessert. It was really nice to see Chris since we hadn't seen him in a couple weeks.
I must run now as we're going to spend a lovely afternoon with skippyness & Davide in which there may be pancakes, vegemite, and Davide playing the guitar for me. :) I can't wait!
