Four recs, five fandoms <3

Ever Cross Your Mind by darkindegrees  | TSN RPS (Andrew/Jesse) | 11,000 words
Summary: AU. Wherein Jesse works for in an office and Andrew is the new guy, complete with dollops of fluff and angst and neuroses.
Why you should read this: I'll admit it, Office AUs (along with coffeeshop and summercamp AUs) are my kryptonite.  It has something to do with the group atmosphere, I think, and this story has that in spades! All of the usual suspects (Emma, Justin, Dustin, etc.) are present and suitably hilarious, and there are lots of misunderstandings and little moments that make you want to simultaneously cuddle and smack them.

Danny Williams and the Case Of The Consulting Detective by petwritings  | Sherlock/Hawaii 5-0 (John/Sherlock, Danny/Steve) |10,000
Summary: There's a serial killer on the loose in Hawaii, and the FBI calls in some international help. Who better to assist than the Governor's Special Task Force?
Why you should read this: If you've read any Sherlock bbc or Hawaii 5-0 you know there's a good deal of humor built in already, and this author does an amazing job of pulling out all of the funniest elements.  Plus, there's some delicious commiserating between John and Danny and some jealous twinges that had me grinning! And a sequel on the way!

A Presumption of Functionality (A Gas-Light Romance) by sunsetmog_fics  | Bandom (Brendon/Spencer) | 45,000 words
Summary: AU. When a spy brings news that an old inventor might have the key to finally bringing the war with Napoleon to an end, Spencer, Officer of His Majesty's War Office, is dispatched north to discover if there's anything to these tales of dirigibles and flying-craft. Instead he finds a unusual, dilapidated house - and instead of an old inventor, he finds Brendon, complete with his pet hedgehog. With Brendon's scientist grandfather missing, Spencer is left trying to protect Brendon, rescue his grandfather and ensure that the secrets of flying-craft remain out of enemy hands.
Why you should read this: Let me be clear, you can read and enjoy the hell out of this with zero knowledge (like me!) of the fandom, it's a total AU.  I was recced this by a friend last week when I begged for something to read, literally anything from any fandom, as long as it was AU and well-written.  I spent the whole evening glued to this delightful gem. If you like slow blossoming romance and mystery plots with a slightly steampunk flavor, you will adore this! C'mon...DIRIGIBLES<3

And one shorter rec!

Indiana Sunset by shornt  | Parks and Recreation (Ben/Leslie) | 2,370 words
Summary: He's used to keeping his head down and his pen red. But Pawnee's been different. Ben's last day in Pawnee.
Why you should read this: I'm sure most everyone has read this, but I somehow missed it, so I thought I'd rec it in case anyone else did too.  Also, because it's so wonderful :)  I love how Ben is a fish out of water, not just in the usual wacky Pawnee and its residents way, but in the depth of his feelings for Leslie.  I also love that he is the one that comes to her in the end.  Brave, scared Ben owns my heart.

fandom: hawaii 5-0, fandom: parks and recreation, rec: fic, fandom: the social network, fandom: sherlock bbc, sunday recs
