Now that life is getting back to normal I guess it's time for an update. I've been sick and lost my voice. Again. Everytime I've got sick since I had my tonsils out in July I've lost my voice, which blows chunks. Can I have them put back in? K. Thanx.
I'm going to Arkansas for Spring Break, which will be an emotional trip I'm sure. A week ago tomorrow (Saturday) an F3 tornado with winds of 165MPH ripped through my tiny hometown destorying 80% of our 'business' district. Sonic, Freds, a grocery store, a furniture store, and Exxon our only 24-hour gas station..Gone. Well, mostly. My dad's job errr.. employer or whatever Arkat Feeds is mangled. Mom says it reminds her of a rollercoaster with the twisty bits of metal. The shop where they work on the trucks in winter is gone completely, with it my Uncle Glen's 18wheeler truck. The glass was outta my dads. Several walls and part of the roof was gone from the factory where my mom works (incidentally across the street from Arkat).
No deaths, which makes our tornado kinda pale in comparison to the ones that hit Missouri, Alabama, and Georgia yesterday. Lots of people lost their homes and/or cars. My family was lucky, no one hurt, and only a few shingles gone from roofs. On my parents new (well year old) home lost 5 or 10 shingles and one whirly bird (the little silver thing on the roof that vents the attic) was bent. And it sent my dads shed flying into a neighboring field. His tools are mangled and the small lawn mower is upside down inside the shed. It didn't move the tractor as it weighs nearly as much as a small car. Some of our neighbors weren't so lucky. A rental trailer around the corner was disentigrated, as well as a home of an elderly lady. It's pieces are in my parents wheat field behind their house. The lady was fine, she was away with family.
My cousin Emily (she's 12) was on telly for rescueing the animals (and money she told me today LMAO) from the vet's office where she works after school. It tore the roof off there. "You can stand inside, look up and like, see the sky." <--Her words not mine. LOL
It's insane. My mom goes back to work on Monday, which means Jenni love, le trip to le England is OOOOONNNN! PIMP! *ahem* Dad's been working all week. He's driving someone elses truck and moaning about the smell cause the guy's a smoker. He said Arkat won't be making it's own catfish, dog, rabbit, and deer feed for prolly a year but they're coming to Mississippi and picking up some made here then taking it to their clients. Which is good as my dad makes all the money in our fam. LOL But unfortunately, no more trips to the horse track this season as "we have to pinch our pennies" says daddy. Gutted.
Chelsea, my bro-in-law Sammy's niece is coming with me to Arkansas. Ugh. My parents invited her which completely blows as she's SUPER annoying (she's 14.) But I'm trying to make the best of it. We're going to the Post which was the first English settlement WEST of the Mississippi river, which means it's barely IN Arkansas. LOL And one day we're driving across the state to the Crater of Diamonds, which is the only PUBLIC (yes public) diamond mine in the World. And only diamond mine period in the US. They've found about 100 diamonds so far this year. That should be fun. Kira, I'll try to ditch Chelsea long enough to come for a visit, but she might come too if that's ok. She'll have her head in her DS prolly though if she does come. LOL
House to myself this weekend. Wewt. Cindy couldn't stand it any longer she had to go see Dumas. I don't blame her I'm dying to see it in person myself so I can have a good cry and move on. Anyway if you're completely bored and want something to see, or if you've always wondered where I'm from.. Linkage -->
http://www.todaysthv.com/news/tornado.aspx Start at the bottom and go up. The best one for destruction views is Dumas Damage Could Be In Millions; Watch Aerial Footage. And on that one in the shot where there's a water tower in the lower left corner and you see these white buildings with silvery towery kinda things.. That's Arkat where my dad works. It's strange cause they built that when I was prolly 8 or 9, daddy used to take me there while he was working on his big truck. I'd either hand him tools or play in the big dirt piles. LOL TOMBOY ALERT! Granted I had my Barbies in the dirt too but that's another story. LOL You can also see Kira's house in this video, but only if you know what you're looking at. So yeah. My meds are kicking in and I'm getting sleepy so, peace out bishes!
