So this entry is perhaps a bit more interesting than usual.
Went to Miss this past weekend for Shelby's 1st birthday party. He wasn't actually one until today but meh. Loads of fun, but more about that later. I got home around 5-ish on Sunday and Em called. As usual. She came over and was telling me that she'd found a grave across from my house! So, we got on her mule and went in search of it. We got covered in mud as the road was wet and soggy from irrigation so we nearly got stuck. We passed it, then we walked back down the road slower looking for it. We ended up finding two! We were sooo excited. Dad's supposed to call this guy he knew back in High School. He came by the house one day while dad was outside washing his truck. The man was looking for some graves of his family and knew they were somewhere on Oakwood Bayou Rd, but not where as they were really old. Then they realized they knew each other way back when. It was pretty cool. So anyway, we're pretty sure these are the ones he was looking for!
Yesterday I went to the docs for my tonsil appointment. Heh. I'd hardly got my mouth open when he said, "Oh yeah, those have to come out!" Asked about snoring then told me about it. They put me to sleep, take them out, I wake up in recovery and have to stay there a few hours to make sure that I don't have any adverese effects from the aniestiea..err.. knockout gas. Then I can come home. He said the first few days are pretty bad but then it gets worse. *eye roll* Something about the muscles in your throat tightening up.. So. You might be asking when I'm having this done? How about 5.30 in the morning! I'm scared shitless, as I've never had surgery. We have to get up at 3.30 to be there in time. Meep. So, send me good thoughts and vibes! I prolly won't be on for 3-5 days depending on how I feel. Em was disappointed as this means I'll more than likely miss her debut beauty pagent on Saturday. Maybe I'll feel up to going.
So mom, dad, and I went to Pine Bluff today to pick up Ol' Whitey. That'd be his 1987 Chevy. The tranny went out eh, last week? And since I can't eat after midnight, we went to Long John Silvers and ate dinner. Before we picked up his truck we were cruising car lots, which I thought was rather odd. As dad's got 2 trucks the white one and a 2005 Ford. And mom's car is a 99 Marquis in excellent shape (that's the limo as we call it). I thought we were just killing time. Then as we're eating dad said "I'm glad to have my truck back!" (He'd been driving my car to work) and I said "I know, how'd you like drivin' my ol girl?" He proceedeed to do the whole "there's nothing really wrong with it aside from the paint." Now Jenni's heard this part before. But, week before last (the day I came to see you Kira) when I got home dad said that he'd found someone to paint my car for like $500. Turns out to be this guy he's known for AGES. So we dropped it off on Friday. He only wanted to bother painting the roof and trunk as those are the bits that paint is rolling off of. Well both bumpers are shit as well, so dad said "Paint those too." The day after mom came in and said, "Why is your car outside?" The jerk decided he didn't want to bother painting it so he brought it home. He didn't even have the stones to ring the bell and say so! ...bastard..
SO, dad asked at the Ford place how much they'd charge. $1600!! The car isn't WORTH that much! Okay, it's worth about $2500 but still! More than half! So.. no paint for me. Le sigh. Then as we're eating and going over how it's not worth it to pay that much for a paint job dad says, "I've been thinking about trying to find a good deal on one."
Me: Blink.
"A Camry is best, good gas milage and they style they've got now is amazing!" (2007's check them out PHWOAR!)
Me: Blink..
"If we could find a good deal, and stretch the payments out to 7 years, that'd get them low enough and I'd pay them for 2 years then when you graduate and get a job, YOU pay them and the insurance."
Me.. Blink.. "Oh..kay.."
So, yeah. Pfft. Will prolly never happen but a girl can dream right?
Boy I hope I don't run out of things to read the next week. Sigh. I'm scared. Nighty!
