I'm glad nothing happened last night...1/11 is my brother's birthday and it's bad enough we found out that day. It would've been worse if Grandpap had passed then.
Drew (my brother) and I found out on our drive home from the Steelers playoff game. It was a hell of an emotional crash - coming down from the high of watching an impressive Steelers playoff victory to finding out that information. I'm glad I wasn't driving at the time.
The update is that there's no news - it's the status quo. Grandpap is breathing, heart is beating...just in a coma.
I'm staying put for the time being - there's no point in me going out there. My dad and my Aunt Leigh (the oldest and the youngest [Leigh is only 8 years older than I am], respectively) are there. Grandpap's not responding, so the only thing that'll happen is I'll get upset seeing him...so I'm not going - yet.
I'll continue updates if anyone's interested.
