Tahoe, and some New Year's Resolutions.

Day 1: Lake Tahoe.

Rick hasn't gotten his skis yet (they're going to end up at a UPS store eventually, nearby), so we were all snowboarding. It took me a while, and a few good falls to get my legs back. Not the least of which were one where I landed on my chest, and I bounced like a bouncy ball. Rib cage compressing and all. The last time I did that was at Stanford Volleyball camp, where we practiced digs. For guys, you're supposed to be able to get low enough that you land on your chest and pop back up. Anyways...

Also, I kid you not. I landed on my ass so hard that my intestines hurt. I can't remember the other falls, but they were pretty awesome. David also tumbled pretty good. Oh, I also went going waaaaaaay too fast on the toeside edge, and I couldn't stop, and Jackie was on my heelside. I had no way to stop, and we kind of collided a little bit. My knee hit the ground HARD. It was pretty bad. But it wasn't in a way that damaged it internally. Just a little bit of impact shock.

Day 2: We went on some harder runs. One of which was something Bowl. A giant slope of moguls and rocks. Not the best plan, but it was perfectly doable as long as you take your time, which we did. I did, however, get to one point somewhere flat, and tried jumping to get going...

that was a bad idea. It hurt my knee SOOOO bad. I basically had to leave for home after that. We were already on our way down to the lodge after that, so it wasn't that bad. Only a few more runs to get there. But one of those involved another horrible crash on my butt. Really, the worst part of the impact is how much it jossles around your head.. I had a terrible headache after the last crash before leaving.

But now I'm back at the condo, takin' it easy. I don't want to kill my knee in the first two days, right? I need to be able to keep going the whole week! Everyone else is still out on the mountain, and they'll call me when they wanna get a ride back. *sigh* It sucks being a cripple.. but I'm still having so much fun.

My knee still hurts, though. ;_; I need cuddles.

New Year's Resolutions:

1. Take my three glucosamine chondroitin pills a day. Yesterday did not count.
My dog, beaujie, has actually been taking them for a while. And when he used to not be able to jump up onto the bed without a step and other such high places, now he can again. Meaning, that can't possibly be placebo! Our little doggie gives me hope.

2. Write more letters. I have many many adorable stationaries and envelopes, and I want to give them to all my wonderful friends. I can't do that without writing letters, though! So I shall start. I already have one written, and I would have another, had I thought to bring stationary with me. Except I didn't, so I'll probably just write it as a gmail draft for now. I must also figure out a way to deliver these, also. I don't trust the mail anymore, since they return-to-sender'd one I sent to Rachel in Seattle.

I miss people. Let's have a slumber party and all have lots of hugs.
