Things are going well

So, everything at work is going really well. All of the people there have been extremely nice and all of the associates really seem to enjoy each other's company, which is great. Today was my third or forth day of training and I was pretty much left to my own devices. I had a woman refresh me on the register functions but she unfortunately got too sick to work on her break so one of the managers asked me if I felt comfortable being on my own. I said yes, by that time I was feeling pretty comfortable, and after that I just checked out customers on my own and did some special order calls. Apparently they think I'm doing really well. I also got my first bi-weekly review, which I aced for the most part. It's just a simple thing that asserts whether I acknowledged the customer, asked if they had the 10% off membership card, and if I thanked the customer before leaving. I guess he said thank you and I smile and nodded, so I got points for that, but that's pretty abnormal for me. Usually I either thank them or tell them to have a good day or whatever. Anywho...I'm really happy with how things are going and the job in general. It couldn't have come at a better time, as now it seems I only have about 50 bucks to my name. x.x

Otherwise, things are pretty normal. I checked out a book from work to read, the new Gospel of Judas. I want to read all of these books about Gnosticism, both pro's and con's, and the apocrypha along with withheld books, but I'm a little wary too. There are So many authors and scholars out there talking about it because of the Da Vinci thing, which is a work of fiction but a lot of people are thinking it's the gospel truth, that it's hard to know who's a quack and who actually may know what they're talking about. But, this book looked good, and it's pretty short so I should be able to get through with it in the two weeks that I need to get it back in, so we'll see.

books, work, faith
