Summer jobs are never fun, only lucrative

Well, I caved and grabbed one of the "Work for Students" cards on campus yesterday. I rationalized it thinking that even if its a shitty job, the pay is very high (supposedly starting is $10-14, but I imagine that's base pay plus commission) and I'll only need to work it for 2-3 months. I can save up plenty of cash for next year in a short period like that, even just working part time.

So tomorrow I have a job interview. From what I understand, I'll be selling kitchen knives over the phone; although supposedly there are service positions availible as well, and I'd prefer not to be in sales if at all possible. I'm sure I could it though, I'm a smart person with a good language skills, but I don't like hawking wares. Constant consumption is not my thing. But for the salary they are supposedly offering...well, for 2-3 months, I could set aside my ethical qualms and sell ketchup popcicles to people in white suits on summer days.

A telemarketing job would be great for me though. I wouldn't have to cut my hair or anything, which is definitely a huge plus in my book. Just have to get dress up before I go, but I think I can handle that. And shit, I have no problem getting chewed out by customers who don't want a phone call as long as the base pay is above $8.

future, job, ramblings
