I've had this account for five years now, and this is the first time I've updated it. I'm basically doing so to tell you to go look somewhere else.
When I created this account, I didn't really have much to say of my own account. Now that I've started coming out of my shell a bit, I find that I occasionally do. But I'm a control freak: if somewhere is gonna store my words permanently, I want complete access to it, to be able to log into the database server directly and bash out SQL commands.
My ISP account comes with domain hosting, 250MB of SQL-enabled webspace, and a shell account. Up till now, I've only used it to store a few image files. But if I use somewhere like Flickr or Photobucket to store images, that'll be more than enough to host an infrequently-updated personal blog, at least for a while.
So, yeah. Go take a look at
The Braindump. There's not much there yet, but I'll add stuff as it occurs to me. That's what blogs are for.
ETA: Thanks to
torakiyoshi (who has kindly set it up for me as I don't have a paid account) you can now read my wibblings without leaving LJ by friending
the_braindump. Be aware, though - I don't get notified about comments posted there, and it doesn't seem to respect Wordpress' equivalent of cut tags. I'll have to play with my settings to see if I can make it a bit more f-list friendly. Still, enjoy!
