Gotta Kick Up Highway Dust

I have a new job. The official title: Study Abroad Peer Advisor. But I'm pretty sure it should be changed to Ever So Slightly Discontented Returnees Yen to Travel When Surrounded by Abroad Information. Next to me is a brochure "Live in Copenhagen!" and all of a sudden I realize that I've always wanted to live in Copenhagen. On my other side is a book entitled "It's Easy to Live and Work Abroad" And I know that it IS easy and I've been ignorant to have not understood that until now. "Teach in Africa!" lies in front of me. Now how could I have gone through my whole life neglecting to give thought to my latent desire to work in Ghana? Beijing, Thailand, France, Cairo, Peru, Australia....The list is endless. Being surrounded by all this has only made me realize that I've never before realized that I just want to head out and explore. Adventure...Realize that I should probably focused on more than just Latin... ;P it won't be nearly as much help in Latin Ameica as Quayle might have believed.
This new job and a rereading of Into the Wild and On the Road have inspired quite the wanderlust. (As long as I blissfully continue to ignore the inconvenient facts of McCandless' terrible death and Kerouac's tragic alcoholism and drug abuse...) The lure of just wandering into adventure is shockingly strong considering I am such a homebody that it can take considerable convincing to make me leave Wright. :P

And now I'm off to travel in thought to Rhetoric! Peace, Love and Muffins! (for Harold)
