J.R. wants to tell everyone that he doesn't have a Facebook because he believes that it demeans social relationships by reducing contact between any two parties to one sentence status updates and the occasional gift of a sheep. In reality, however, it's because he's too lazy to even bother giving out sheep, and Twitter, with it's 140 character limit, makes it so that no one expects anything more from him than a few words on how his breakfast went that morning. Of course, the only person he ever discussed this with is Apolo, and Apolo only rolled his eyes and told J.R. that he wouldn't ever get any fans if he kept acting this way.
Personally, J.R. thinks this is a load of bullshit, because no one in their right mind would want fans the way Apolo has fans.
So he checks his Twitter twice a day or so and tries to think of something interesting to say, before he inevitably realizes that his life is pathetically centered around short track and indie music. Sometimes, when he's bored, he'll take pictures of his tattoo and post them, because it's good for his ego to have teenage girls (or at least he assumes they're teenage girls) asking him to marry them, even if his guy friends mock him mercilessly for it. He gets back at them by posting their middle school yearbook pictures, and it's so much more effective because he has eighteen thousand more followers than they do.
