[For Rachel Dawes, delivered around January 14.]

Rachel,

Merry Christmas and happy new year! I'm sorry I didn't write sooner but I've been a bit distracted with my new musical career!! Can you believe it? I can't. I'm living in 2010 and getting paid to play music. Never in my wildest dreams...

Callie and I hope you're doing well. How have things been in Chicago? I hear you've been getting lots of snow - hope you're not too cold! Everything up here is mostly totally frozen over and it's been that way for so long I'm starting to wonder if it's ever going to be warm again. It's not that bad though.

I met up with some other Rankins and really lucked out because they're not nosey, so they didn't really ask me too much about my past. I think I'm finally getting used to this world - I have family, now, extended though they are (I might be someone's great uncle) and a home and a job and I'm even getting used to the whole dog-sense thing. I'm happy. I hope you are, too.

Write back soon! I look forward to hearing from you.

Love,
Conway
