Right, so in the last month or so I joined the covers band "Twisted Metal", & we play songs like:
Ace of Spades, Bark at the Moon, Highway to Hell, Mother, Breaking the Law, Neon Knights, Broken Heroes, We're not gonna take it, Symphony of Destruction... and the like.
Current set list is from about 22 songs. I play the lead part on about half of them, I guess.
We've got a gig down in Te Pahu on the 24th of April, one at the Masonic Tavern on the 1st of May, and more set up for at least the next two months.
On most of these gigs I'm also playing a separate set of my original material, & can sell my CDs & the like at the gigs.
I've also got a new song pretty much written, from the guitar & vocal side of things.
I'm going to try using my DSi instead of my sequencer to run the backing tracks at my next gig, this frees up my sequencer's memory for more composing, but also the DSi has a back lit screen, whereas the sequencer doesn't, so it should be a lot easier to use on stage.
On top of that it looks like I'll be moving into my brother's neck of the woods in just over a month, so will be a lot closer to friends & things that're happening, rather than being all alone over on the shore.
Things are rolling, & things are looking up.
