Oh, this is very well done.

You capture in just a few sentences how very alien the Doctor's perspective is, how death and violence become very different things when removed from time.
And then you turn it around and show how Jack is very much the opposite but in exactly the same way. They both see a bigger picture than the people around them ever can.
