Is there such a thing as pure love? If so, what are the conditions for love to be pure? Can pure love exist if it isn't reciprocated? If so, what is a scenario of pure unreciprocated love?
Let me clarify what I mean, by giving some examples of things that I view as impure love, or possibly not love at all but some things mistaken for love.
1. Codependent Relationships: When one person relies on the support of another person, and that person becomes addicted to their dependence on them.
2. Validation: One person looks to another for validation, and sees their good opinion as the ultimate achievement.
3. Admiration: One person sees another as something to aspire to. The person is motivated to do things in order to achieve the status of the second person.
4. Generosity: One person sees that another person is in love with them, and so reciprocates in order to make the person happy.
5. Lust: In order to get sex, someone convinces even oneself that they are in love with someone else.
Perhaps one can purely love and also participate in one of the five games listed above. Perhaps it is only when the love is based on a game that it is not pure.
