The 21st Day!

Jan 31, 2010 01:38

IT IS FINALLY OVER!!! And I have to say, I am very happy. I can have all that yummy food again!

I have lost several pounds, flattened my tummy, and have a new appreciation for food! I took for granted, my yummy food, and I will always appreciate it. No longer must I suffer. LOL!

But seriously. I learned a lot other these last 21 days of fasting. I feel like I have become a little more holy and I understand better what it means to be a Christian. I also feel a little closer to God. I still haven;t come to have complete faith in Him, but I am praying that I will one day have that feeling and that faith I lost so very long ago. I want to be able to trust in Him again. So until then, I will keep going to church, listening to word, getting comfortable with worship, and being grateful for everything that God has provided for me.

I will learning to get along with my mother and be more attentive and respective of her wishes. I will learn how to be be a more responsible adult and continue with school and searching for a job. I will keep looking for an affordable apartment and pray that God will lead me to one.

I feel so happy after this fast. Not because of the food, while that is a very important matter, but because I fill fulfilled in spirit. Funny huh?

I went out with the gals, Sam and Jessi (boy names rule!), and Jessi's BF and other friend, to Double TT Diner for a celebration meal, tom commemorate the end of my very first fast. I had a monster burger, mozzarella sticks, cream of crab soup, and topped it off with two cups of pink lemonade! Sooooo goooood!

But you know, I don't think that I will go back to my old eating habits. I can't imagine having that gross fast food every day. So here is my new food selection"

Meat - It's expensive so I will buy it from the Amish Market on the nights I want to cook and eat it. It'll be cheaper, fresher, and yummier. (This excludes the super awesome pepper bacon which will be bought by the pound)

Veggies - Will increase my variety and will have at least 2 servings a day.

Fruit - Will go to Costco/BJs and buy fruit cups. I will have at least two servings a day. Once the summer starts I will increase my intake of fresh summer fruits like strawberries and stuff.

Dairy - No change here. I'll probably buy higher grade cheese is small portions at the Amish Market. Organic milk will return. Will indulge in ice cream once a pay period. (Still looking for the Hagin-Daze Baily's Irish Cream ice cream)

Sugar - Honey will replace sugar in my tea, oatmeal, and cream of wheat. Snacks will be eaten when I feel like it, which isn't too often believe it or not.

And that about covers it. I'm going to bed now.
