So pretty soon after I posted about my cold, I managed to twist my ankle (and get a couple of other minor injuries with it O hai road rash), primarily because I'm an idiot.
Luckily, I was able to handle my one almost-entirely sitting job (with help from a co-worker) and I was able to find alternate coverage for the retail one...
And since I cosplay as John, I have a. a cane and b. some knowledge of how to use it, though my experience with it grown by leaps and bounds these past couple of days.
The first couple days really sucked, not because either the limp or the cold were that bad in and of themselves, but together it felt like none of me was working correctly (hardware *and* software issues!) and the combination was extra exhausting. I'm still way too damn tired all the time.
I'm now at the point where I'm limping along without the cane, though I likely set back my healing a bit with the amount of walking I did to and from the Avengers midnight showing last night. :P Worth it. Hopefully I can use the experience to better write pre-Sherlock John, b/c man is a cane a lot of work to walk with, and I've never been so viscerally aware of the effects of limping on the part of your body that's not hurt, as well as the bit that is.
